Student Clubs, Professional Chapters And Association Bodies
Students and Faculty members of ECE department are active members of esteemed professional societies. Professional Bodies namely IETE , OSI, IEI, IEEE Consumer Electronic Society Student Branch, IEEE Women in Engineering Society, Optica (Formerly OSA), SESI have their student chapter in ECE department which encourage students to conduct workshops and make contacts with multiple dignitaries. Many outreach programs are conducted by these teams to educate the downtrodden students studying in nearby schools. Students adopt villages through Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and organise various social events.
Students of ECE department are provided with various opportunities to develop and exhibit their talents through various student Teams/clubs like The Project Team, Aakash Research Labs, Team Humanoid, Beeclust- Multi Robot System Lab, Optizen, Team Embelligence.
The department encourages the students to improve their techno management skills through extra- curricular activities. Students are encouraged to be a part of professional bodies/student chapters and students’ professional teams/clubs depending on their interests. Events like SRM-TEDx, TEKMUX, Arduino Day, International day of Light (IDL), COMSPRO – Major Project Design Contest, Workshops, Seminars and Conferences are organised and conducted. Furthermore, students are always encouraged to participate in various Hackathons and Competitions to have a taste of the practical problems and come up with plausible solution
